Her eyes are wide open. Her lips parted as if to speak. Her dead body frozen in the ice… She is not the only one.
When a young boy discovers the body of a woman beneath a thick sheet of ice in a South London park, Detective Erika Foster is called in to lead the murder investigation.
The victim, a beautiful young socialite, appeared to have the perfect life. Yet when Erika begins to dig deeper, she starts to connect the dots between the murder and the killings of three prostitutes, all found strangled, hands bound and dumped in water around London.
What dark secrets is the girl in the ice hiding?
As Erika inches closer to uncovering the truth, the killer is closing in on Erika.
The last investigation Erika led went badly wrong… resulting in the death of her husband. With her career hanging by a thread, Erika must now battle her own personal demons as well as a killer more deadly than any she’s faced before. But will she get to him before he strikes again?

The Girl In The Ice is an another addictive thriller story for all those crime-fiction fans out there!

Robert Bryndza's debut crime fiction The Girl In The Ice takes us through a journey with DCI Erika Foster, who is assigned to finding the killer of a young socialite, Andrea Douglas Brown. The determined, strong-willed detective will never allow any criminal to escape from the Law and Justice, even if they are the most influenced/powerful people in the country. She has to stop the serial killer on the loose, who has brutally murdered and raped five women and is a threat to herself now.

Bookouture publications has gotten a couple of consummate crime-fiction writers, and Robert Bryndza has joined the list with a remarkable debut thriller. He has shown such a flair that nobody can believe he was a romantic comedy fiction author (known for Coco Pinchard series) previously.

The engaging plot with evocative writing made it easier to picture the whole story, and I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end as an episode out of my favorite TV show, CASTLE. As the story progresses, the mysteries and clues are unraveled like pieces of a puzzle that are scattered here and there, it keeps us guessing who the killer could be. The inclusion of a few chapters, told from the culprit's side depicts the brutality of the killer's thoughts and actions. I was proved utterly wrong when I thought I knew the ending. All the pieces are glued together to give an unpredictable ending. I never saw that coming!

Robert Bryndza knows how to keep the readers tied up to his work with a fascinating storyline, amazing characters, and a very impressive story-building. It is easy to see why it has received many raving reviews in Amazon as well as in Goodreads. I'm waiting to read more stories of DCI Erika Foster. The Night Stalker is the next book in the series, which I expect to be more interesting than this. The Girl in the Ics isn't an action packed thriller. Still, the parts which had fighting scenes were gripping written as the rest of the story. The Girl In The Ice is a book not to be missed for all the thriller fiction lovers. A realistic story with a diligent detective protagonist will keep you hooked to the story from the first page to the last. Highly recommended!
